STEAM- Volume 1

This video production by Mega-Steam, LLC, the same company that brings model railroaders JT's Mega-Steam Scented Smoke Fluids, bring you back to the early 1990's through today to view some of the great steamers that I've had the pleasure of capturing on film. Many of these great locos are no longer running, either red-tagged for boiler or firebox defects, awaiting the completion of their "5-year rebuild", and even one unfortunate to have suffered a "firebox failure" in the mid-1990's. The included steamers are:

  • Wanamaker, Kempton & Southern, PA- 0-6-0 Saddletank #65.
  • The Durbin Rocket, WV- Moore & Kepple Climax #3
  • Cass Scenic RR Railfan Weekend "triple-header"- Shay #2 & the Heisler on the point and WM #6 on the rear. Along side is Shay #5 pulling a log train.
  • NJMT/ Pine Creek RR/ Allaire State Park, NJ- Ely-Thomas Shay #6 & the Scottish "Lady Edith" 4-4-0.
  • Gettysburg RR- ex-CP #1278 & ex-Mississippian 2-8-0 #76.
  • Strasburg RR- 2-6-0 #89 in CN paint, 2-10-0 #90, 4-8-0 #475's first weekend in service for SRR. A great shot of #475 charging the grade at "Groundhog Cut".
  • Knoebels Amusement Resort, PA- "Ole Smokey", a coal-fired Crown Metals miniature 4-4-0.
  • Black River & Western- 2-8-0 #60 and 0-6-0 Porter at rest.
  • More Cass stuff including Shay #5's 100th birthday picture session w/ the railfan weekend participants. Run-bys of the Heisler and WM Shay #6, "up the mountain" footage, Spruce, and more.

AMUSEMENT PARK TRAINS- Volume 1

What's the best way to take in a visit to an amusement park...THE TRAIN RIDE. This video production by Mega-Steam, LLC shows some fine examples of one of my FAVORITE subjects- Amusement Park Train rides. I make it a point to ride (and film) the train ride at every park I visit. While most are diesel-driven contraptions, sometimes dressed up to LOOK like steamers, some are actual "live steam" powered locomotives, like Ole Smokey at Knoebels or the Disney locos. This video features both kinds. The included rides are:

  • Knoebels, PA- "Ole Smokey" coal-fired Crown 4-4-0 and their Hershell S-16 gas-powered "Pioneer Trains", which take you 1 1/2 miles through the woods, including tunnels.
  • Dutch Wonderland- "Wonderland Express" (tunnel, bridges, ect).
  • Bowcraft Amusements, NJ- CP Huntington.
  • Bushkill Park, PA "Bushkill Express"
  • Land of Make Believe, NJ- "Civil War Train"
  • Jenkinson's Pier, NJ- CP Huntington.
  • Smithville, NJ- CP Huntington (a nice size track layout).
  • Wild West City, NJ- National Amusements Diesel (train robbery included).
  • Walt Disney World RR- the engineers put on a nice show while leaving the "Toontown Fair" station...open cylinder cocks and all.
  • WDW's Animal Kingdom- Eastern Star Express

Our films feature no narration and minimal captions, just great train action along w/ occasional "location setting" shots. VHS- 85 minutes w/ hi-fi sound.

CSX on the West Trenton, NJ Line.

This the first video production by Mega-Steam, LLC. Filmed both in daylight and at night (in available surrounding light, not in B&W "nightvision") along the Septa R-3 line to West Trenton, NJ, which also happens to be a CSX mainline into the Garden State. It features CSX freights on the West Trenton line (ex-Reading RR) in NJ and PA. See mainline freights such as the famous Tropicana juice unit train, the "nj garbage" train, intermodal and mixed freights being pulled by big CSX power. Also see Septa R-3 commuter trains (West Trenton is the end-of-the-line for the Septa R-3 line). Our films feature no narration and minimal captions, just great train action along w/ occasional "location setting" shots. VHS- 50 minutes w/ hi-fi sound.

Special Price- $5.00 each.
